Analysis of Studies on Children's Literature in Kyrgyzstan (1950-2022)

Abstract

The origin of Kyrgyz children's literature goes back to the Soviet period of 1920-1930. Later, from 1940-1960, it
formed and began to develop, especially from 1970-1980. With the development of Kyrgyz children's literature,
the number of literary works for children and academic research has increased. The research was limited to the
years 1950-2022. This research was conducted to identify research works on Kyrgyz children's literature, continue
past reviews, and create a source for new research on children's literature. The literature review for the research
relied on library archives. In addition, journals and Internet search engines were used as well. The content of
these studies conducted in Kyrgyzstan on ethical values was interpreted through the document analysis method.
In addition, the frequencies by year, language, and content of the data obtained within the purpose of the study
were shown in a diagram and interpreted by creating classification tables. The study provided information about
the formation and development of Kyrgyz children's literature, and made comments on the content of articles,
theses and books in accordance with the research carried out afterwards. Thirty-five scholarly researches and
eleven books written on Kyrgyz children's literature in Kyrgyzstan were completed as part of the research
conducted in the field of children's literature. In analyzing postgraduate dissertations included in research studies
on Kyrgyz children's literature, it was revealed that there are six doctoral dissertations, one master's thesis, and
twenty-eight articles
